The Ludhiana District Sub-Junior and Junior Swimming Championship has once again showcased the talent and potential of young swimmers from across the region. This year's event, held at the Punjab Agricultural University Swimming Pool, featured a diverse range of swimmers, from seasoned club members to budding athletes just starting their journey.
One of the standout performances came from Chirag Negi of the PAU Club, who claimed the gold medal in the 400m freestyle (boys II) with a time of 5:40.8 seconds. Kunwar, representing Fin Flyers, clinched the gold medal in the 800m freestyle (boys-IB) with a time of 12:00.7 seconds, while Aaradhya from the same club dominated the girls' 400m freestyle (group II), winning with a time of 6:35.94 seconds.
The championship also served as a platform for swimmers to secure their place in the upcoming Punjab State Swimming Championships. Apinder Singh Grewal, president of the association, announced that swimmers selected during this meet will represent Ludhiana in the 37th Punjab sub-junior, 49th junior, and 47th Senior Punjab State Swimming Championship, which will be held in Ferozepur from July 24 to July 26. This provides a significant opportunity for these young swimmers to showcase their skills on a larger stage and compete against the best in the state.
